Too many links on the page (300+)
too_many_outlinksShort answer
The page carries more than 300 links (internal and external together). Google has no hard limit any more, but the value a page passes is shared across its links, and 300+ usually means a mega-menu, a tag cloud or a footer that links to everything. Reduce the blocks that are not useful to a reader of this page. Informational.
Why it matters
Internal PageRank is divided among outgoing links; a page with 400 links passes a quarter of what it would with 100. Giant navigation also pushes the real content down in the HTML and can exceed the 2 MB limit on large sites. Readers do not use 300 links either.
How Glimana detects it
The rule fires when internal plus external link count exceeds 300; the evidence shows the total.
How to fix it
Move secondary navigation to hub pages, collapse tag clouds, limit footer links to the essential ones, and paginate long lists. Keep the links that help a reader of this page.
