Short answer

The sitemap lists a URL that redirects. Google follows it, but each entry costs an extra request and the redirect source is not the page that gets indexed. Replace the entry with the redirect's final URL.

Why it matters

Google asks for sitemaps to contain the canonical URL of each page — the one you want indexed. A redirecting entry is a hint that the sitemap was generated from an outdated URL list (an old http:// scheme, a non-www host, a trailing-slash variant, an old slug). It also doubles the fetches needed to crawl the file. After a site migration, this rule is the fastest way to see whether the new sitemap was actually regenerated.

How Glimana detects it

The crawler follows redirects and records the target. The rule fires when a URL that appears in a sitemap file responds with a 3xx; the evidence shows the destination so you can see the pattern (scheme, host or slug).

How to fix it

Regenerate the sitemap from the current URLs. If the pattern is site-wide (all http:// or all non-www), the sitemap's base URL setting is wrong rather than the individual entries.

  1. Settings → General: make sure WordPress Address and Site Address use the final scheme and host (https://www.…). SEO plugins build sitemap URLs from these.
  2. Save permalinks once to rebuild rewrite rules, then clear the SEO plugin's sitemap cache.
  3. If a static sitemap.xml or sitemap_index.xml file exists in the web root from an older setup, delete it so the plugin's dynamic sitemap is served.

Shopify's sitemap always uses the primary domain. If entries redirect, the primary domain was changed recently — Shopify updates the sitemap within hours. If individual products redirect, a manual URL redirect was created for a product that is still published; unpublish or remove the redirect.

Generate sitemap entries from canonical URLs (the same value you put in rel=canonical). After a migration, run the sitemap through a crawler before submitting it.

How the fix is verified

Affected URLs are re-fetched after you mark the task done; the task closes when every sitemap entry returns 200 directly or the redirecting URL has been removed from the file.
